Special Session 4

Special Session 4: Secure and Intelligent 5G/6G-Enabled IoT and Edge Systems

Description: The rapid evolution of 5G and emerging 6G networks is accelerating the deployment of Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, wireless sensor networks, autonomous systems, and intelligent connected environments. While these technologies provide high-speed connectivity, ultra-low latency, massive device support, and distributed intelligence, they also introduce new cybersecurity, privacy, scalability, resource-management, and performance challenges. This special session, “Secure and Intelligent 5G/6G-Enabled IoT and Edge Systems,” provides a platform for researchers, practitioners, and industry experts to present innovative approaches for developing secure, intelligent, resilient, and energy-efficient next-generation connected systems.
The session will particularly encourage research that integrates cybersecurity with artificial intelligence, machine learning, edge/fog computing, lightweight cryptography, intrusion and anomaly detection, secure routing, trust management, and distributed or federated learning. Contributions addressing the unique requirements of resource-constrained IoT devices, heterogeneous wireless networks, mobility and handover management, congestion control, quality of service, and secure cloud-edge-IoT integration are also welcomed.
The session further seeks applied and experimental research demonstrating how these technologies can support critical and emerging application domains, including smart agriculture, environmental monitoring, rural connectivity, smart cities, autonomous and robotic systems, and other cyber-physical environments. Particular emphasis will be placed on solutions that balance security, intelligence, low latency, scalability, energy efficiency, privacy, and dependable network performance in future 5G/6G-enabled IoT ecosystems.
